The SEC on Sunday announced that LSU will be fined $250,000 after fans rushed the field following the Tigers’ 45-20 victory Saturday against No. 7 Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium.
It’s standard procedure, though the fine is steeper because it is LSU’s third offense under the league’s access to competition area policy. LSU was last fined for a violation following its win over Georgia in 2018.

Though there is likely some debate over whether the victory should’ve elicited such a reaction, LSU fans didn’t actually pull down the goal posts, like the Tennessee crowd did the previous week after the Vols’ win against Alabama. Tennessee was fined $100,00, and the school asked for donations to cover the additional costs of replacing the goal posts.
The Tiger Athletic Foundation still found a way to take a light jab at its SEC counterpart. LSU jumped into the AP poll Sunday at No. 18.
TAF members, thank you for all you do for LSU Athletics! Unlike other schools in the conference, we will find a way to cover this cost. #ForeverLSU pic.twitter.com/19slYty9in
