BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (CelebrityAccess) — Artist manager Jon Hensley, known for his work with Shooter Jennings and Wanda Jackson, died at his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky on June 1st. He was 31.

While an official cause of death was not released, the Washington Times reported that his death was determined to be accidental.

Hensley was most recently the manager for Waylon Jenning's son Shooter Jennings, Wanda Jackson and Vice-President of his own record label, Black Country Rock at BCR Media.

Hensley helped to revitalize the career of Jackson, raising awareness about the fact that she wasn't in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and helping her to connect with Jack White about a possible duet. While White declined, he did offer to record and produce Jackson on his Thirdman Records label, producing "The Party Ain't Over" which peaked at number 17 on Top Rock Albums.

Hensley was also the host the nationally syndicated radio program "Are You Ready for the Country?" which featured interviews with high profile guests such as Chris Robinson and John Paul Jones. Porter Wagoner, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson.

He is survived by his parents, Tony and Dawn Hensley of Greenville; sister Whitney (Ronnie Jr.) Hensley-Young of Hopkinsville; grandparents Charles "Shack" and Gwyn Joines of Central City and Johnny and Glenda Hensley of Hopkinsville; nephew Nolan Young, his little cowboy; niece Habary Young, his little monster; aunts Kellie Joines, Jill Joines, Kecia (Timmy) Shelton, and Teresa "T.T." Hensley; uncle Darrin (Barbara) Joines; first cousins Paige Shelton Harrell, Adam Joines, and Dylan Joines; and his partner Mary Sparr of Bowling Green. – Staff Writers
